The Sydney .NET Users Group
NET Object Design - Authoring Effective Types and
Objects Hierarchies
The .NET framework provides extensive support for
object and component orientated design techniques. Taking advantage
of this support requires an understanding of the principles involved,
and knowledge of how to implement these principles in .NET.
At
this month's meeting we will begin by demonstrating
the techniques required to successfully design and author types
that interact well with the .NET framework and Base Class Libraries
(BCL). Topic will include:
-
Value versus reference types
-
When and how to override the Equals and GetHashCode
methods
-
Implementation Interfaces
-
Object finalization and clean up
-
Method modifiers.
The second part of the presentation will focus on
designing object hierarchies according to the principles of object-orientated
design. Topics covered will include:
-
Object Orientated Principles and how .NET supports
these
-
Beyond objects - component-orientated features
of .NET
-
Design Pattern Basics
The
next User Group meeting will be held on Wednesday 19th of December
at 5:45 PM.
